Rogue Event 04 – Civilian Ship Chased By Pirate

Image from

You enter a new star system and long range sensors detect three starships of Silhouette 3 and a single vessel of Silhouette 4 at the far end of the system. Do you move in to investigate?

You enter a new star system and detect multiple starships; a group of three starfighters chasing a small, unarmed shuttle. Scans show the pursuers are Z-95 Headhunters with their laser cannons blasting away at the other vessel. Your ship is immediately hailed by the shuttle. “Help us! We are being attacked by pirates!”

The starfighters and shuttle are both at Long Range to the Crew’s starship, and at Close Range to each other. If the Crew makes any threatening moves or communications towards the Z-95 Headhunters, they turn their attention away from the shuttle and attack the Crew. If the Crew ignores the pleas from the shuttle, it is shortly destroyed. Afterward, the pirates demand a payment of 500 credits from the Crew or else they will attack. The Z95 Headhunters are piloted by Pirate Crew.

The shuttle is piloted by a teenaged Bothan boy out on a joyride and has no tangible reward to offer the Crew, but will aid them by upgrading any Streetwise checks made in this system, if he survives.

I quite enjoy these segments. It makes the environment feel more organic. I try to sprinkle my games with similar elements to let the party know that this is a large galaxy and that things are always in motion. With or without their help.
